On the 1st February 2007, AV Booker was launched. The aim has always been to meet two criteria. The first is to make sure that freelancers can manage their time effortlessly and, most importantly, never miss a booking again. The second is to make searching, finding and booking a freelancer quick and easy, no need to spend hours on the phone finding out if who you want is available.
With these two objectives in mind the creators of AV Booker, Jamie Shiels and Dan Tubbs set out on a two year journey of creating the best way to book a freelancer. We think we have achieved it, although we still have even more ideas in the pipeline.
It is important to us that we didn’t just create another directory, AV Booker is more of a scheduling tool for both bookers and freelancers. We know that some bookers will never book outside of their preferred freelancers, while others are always looking for new talent. Either way both needs are met, and at the same time AV Booker almost acts as an assistant to freelancers who use the preferred bookers functionality.
We wanted to keep everything clean and uncluttered, this is why advertising although present will, be contained and relevant to the AV industry. The most important thing for us is that all our users are able to get the right information as quickly as possible. You will never see pop-up advertising on the site and if any of our members wish to share something with the rest of AV Booker, we will be happy to do so via the news page, but you won’t find us bombarding you with unwanted e-mails or SMS. We want to work with our members because freelancers are so important in making the AV industry work so well.
We have had a full working model of the site for over four months and have been tirelessly tweaking and improving to make sure that the whole process from registering, to booking, to checking a diary is as easy as possible. There are of course certain constraints when working with the internet and SMS but we are extremely happy with the result, we hope you are too.
